Next we will look at the second string know as the B string.
The notes on this string are as follows:

b---0---- c------1-------- d-------3-------

The exercise is the Same as before:

b-0-0-0-0-1-1-1-1-3-3-3-3-0-0-0-0-1-1-1-1-3-3-3-3
Once you can get a nice clear sound from each not and can play it repetitively fast, Move on to the next lesson where we will be combining the two strings.

Quickly Learn Electric Guitar- Blow your friends away!

Are you itching to learn Electric guitar, and want to be able to play it with speed and accuracy like the pros? Well Congratulations! You have made the first step to doing just that by visiting this site. Here I will outline all the best tips, tricks, and techniques you can use to master this instrument. It will take a lot of hard work and dedication, but with a little bit of practice you can be playing along with all your favorite songs! So, lets dive right in and get started!

First off, before we get into some actual playing, I would like to introduce the Guitar Super Stars program. This program is amazing for everyone of any skill level. It contains a ton of valuable content, and will have you playing some songs in a matter of days. It goes way more in depth than I will here, and will teach you much much more than the simple lessons I have set out will. If really looking to learn to play guitar I highly suggest checking it out. But enough of that, lets get started!

Tuning- Before we actually start playing, we need to make sure your guitar is in tune. If you don't have a guitar tuner, go out and buy one. Korg GA-40 Large Display Guitar and Bass Tuner You can get a decent tuner off the internet or at any music store for 15-20$. Plug your guitar into the tuner and strum a single string. As you slowly strum the string, turn the knobs at the top of guitar until your desired not is reach. The notes you are tuning to are as follows:
1st- e
2nd- b
3rd- g
4th- d
5th- a
6th- e
note: The first string is the smallest string (the one with the highest pitch) it should be the one on the bottom of the neck from you.
Also, keep in mind this is standard tuning. Some songs will use different or alternative tuning. During my lessons you will not need to know any other tunings, but as you get better and have more experienced it may be wise to start learning a couple. Now that your guitar is tuned lets get started.

For more Advanced lessons check out Guitar Super Stars!

Reading Tabs- An important skill any guitarist needs to know is how to read guitar tabs. During the course my lessons, and many others you come across, the music will be written in tabs instead of traditional music. It will look something like this:
e---------------------2---------------5----------------------7
b--------------5----------------------4------------675-------
g--------------5---------------------------------------------6
d--------------5---------------------------------------------
a--------------5---------------------------------------------
e------------------------------------------------------------
The Letters correspond to the string of your guitar (which you tuned earlier to these notes). The number is which fret, or little bump on the neck of the guitar, is to be held down. For example: E-----2, means you should be on your E string hold down the second fret, pretty simple right?

Lesson 1- High E
The first string will focus on is your High E string. This is the string with the highest pitch. Will be learning 3 notes of this string to start. They are as follows:
e----0----- e----1------- e----3-----
e f g
E F and G.
First off I want you to play each Note 4 times nice and slow, then switch to the next note. As you play it more and more, speed up your playing until your able to quickly play these 4 notes in succession and cleanly switch between them.
In tab form it looks like this.
E-0-0-0-0-1-1-1-1-3-3-3-3-0-0-0-0-1-1-1-1-3-3-3-3-0-0-0-0-1-1-1-1-3-3-3-3
Once you can play that relatively fast with little error, move on.

We are currently updating and adding more content, check back in a few days to see the rest of our lessons.
